August 2008 / Bott Radio Network and The Kansas City Chiefs Rekindle Faith & Family Night, Saturday August 16th
Bott Radio Network was blessed to be a part of rekindling a tradition begun during the Jack Steadman era of the Kansas City Chiefs:
Faith and Family Night.
A preseason, near sellout crowd poured into Arrowhead to see the Chiefs take on the Arizona Cardinals. Before the game several Christian musicians played for tailgating fans and testified for Jesus Christ.
While the outcome of the game was not as hoped for as the Chiefs lost 27-17, the spirit of those who came for Faith and Family Night was bright.
Due to the Chiefs and Bott Radio Network’s efforts to foster community growth, the post game festivities offered a true ‘victory’ after the game-
Victory in Christ. Over 1,100 people gathered in the end zone to hear Chiefs players, FCA officials and BRN staff offer encouragement.
Defensive Tackle T.J. Jackson, #99, Free Safety Jon McGraw #47, and Tackle Tre Stallings, #61 of the Chiefs offered outstanding testimonies and challenged the crowd to strengthen their own walk with God. They were introduced by FCA Field Associate and local leader Paul Coffman. Paul spoke and then introduced Chiefs Hall of Famer Gary Spani. Gary now serves in the front office of the Chiefs as Director of ticket and events Marketing. Dan Snell, Bott Radio Network Regional Manager here in Kansas City along with Pat Rulon, National Director of Sales
welcomed the crowd and thanked them for their wonderful response. Plans for 2009 Faith and Family Night are already underway. Anyone interested in
serving on a committee to plan and produce an even bigger event are encouraged to call Dan Snell or Pat Rulon at Bott Radio Network's Corporate Offices in Overland Park, Kansas at 913-642-7770.
